Custom Pool Design & Construction in Odessa, Florida

Odessa Pool Builders for Custom Gunite & Fiberglass Pools

Payne Pool Professionals designs custom gunite swimming pools and installs Latham fiberglass pools for eligible homeowners in the Odessa area. Odessa properties can fall within either Hillsborough or Pasco County, so the governing jurisdiction, site access and design flexibility are reviewed for each address before the pool plan is finalized.

Our Tampa team helps homeowners evaluate the property, compare pool construction options, develop the design in 3D, select finishes and equipment, and move through permitting and construction with a plan built around the actual backyard. Odessa is one of the Tampa area's better markets for high-end custom pools. Larger residential lots, estate-style properties, and homes designed around outdoor living create opportunities for pools with integrated spas, premium finishes, architectural features, and more substantial decking.

Planning a Custom Pool for Your Odessa Property

Two homes in Odessa can have completely different pool-building conditions. Lot size, rear-yard access, easements, setbacks, existing structures, mature trees, drainage, grade changes, utility locations, outdoor kitchens, lanais, and the relationship between the backyard and the home can all influence what should be built.

Payne Pool Professionals starts by understanding those conditions and how you want to use the space. The goal might be a family pool, a custom pool and spa, a quiet backyard retreat, an outdoor entertaining environment, or a larger design that brings the pool, decking, lighting, and architecture together. Those decisions shape the layout before construction begins.

Custom Pool Construction in Odessa: Gunite & Latham Fiberglass

Payne Pool Professionals' Tampa team builds custom gunite pools and installs Latham fiberglass pools for eligible Odessa properties.

Custom Gunite Pools

Gunite is the strongest option when the backyard or design goals require maximum flexibility. A custom gunite pool can be shaped around the property rather than forcing the property around a prebuilt shell, incorporating integrated spas, tanning ledges, custom entry steps, benches, raised walls, water features, bubblers, premium interior finishes, decorative tile, custom coping, LED lighting, heating, and automation.

Latham Fiberglass Pools

Fiberglass is another strong inground option when an available shell fits the property and desired backyard layout. Payne Pool Professionals installs Latham fiberglass pools, giving homeowners access to established pool shapes, sizes, tanning-ledge configurations, entry designs, and other available features.

A backyard plan is much easier to understand when you can actually see it. Payne Pool Professionals uses 3D pool design to help homeowners visualize how the proposed pool, spa, decking, water features, and major backyard elements will relate to the house before construction begins. This gives homeowners the opportunity to refine proportions, feature placement, and design choices while they are still on a screen rather than already made of concrete.

Tampa Bay Climate

Pool Design for the Tampa Bay Climate

A Tampa-area pool has to perform through long periods of heat, strong sun, humidity, heavy seasonal rain, storms, and frequent use. That makes site planning important. Drainage, equipment location, finish selection, decking, landscape relationships, shade, heating, automation, and ease of maintenance all deserve attention during design. The finished project should look good at completion and remain practical for the way the backyard will actually be used.

Building & Permitting

What Does Building a Pool in Odessa Involve?

Odessa properties can fall within either Hillsborough or Pasco County, so permitting requirements depend on the parcel. Hillsborough County residential pool projects require a site plan and current-code pool plans through HillsGovHub. Pasco County maintains separate residential pool and spa submittal requirements that can include engineered drawings, drainage plans, equipment data, and safety documentation.

Payne Pool Professionals coordinates the applicable pool permitting process based on the project address, proposed design, and jurisdiction.

Permit, zoning, flood, engineering, and code requirements can change and vary by property. Payne Pool Professionals confirms the requirements applicable to the specific project during planning and permitting.

Pool Cost

How Much Does a Pool Cost in Odessa?

There is no useful single price for a custom swimming pool because project conditions vary dramatically. The final investment can depend on gunite versus fiberglass construction, pool size and depth, property access, excavation and site conditions, integrated spa, tanning ledges, water features, interior finish, tile, coping, decking, heating, automation, lighting, drainage, permitting, engineering requirements, and overall design complexity. A site-specific consultation and design provide a much more realistic basis for budgeting than a generic advertised starting price.

Gunite vs. Fiberglass Pools for Odessa Homes

Odessa homeowners weighing gunite against fiberglass usually start with access and design flexibility. If equipment and a shell delivery can reach the backyard and an available Latham model matches the space, fiberglass is a strong option. If the plan calls for a custom shape, a raised spa, a large sun shelf or a layout that works around existing structures, gunite gives the design team more freedom.

We got a pool from Payne Pool a little over a year ago. We went with a gunite salt water pool. I should have written this review then. They did a wonderful job with what we requested. They extended our patio at a fraction of the price of what other's were quoting us. My only issue is that I wasn't too impressed by their "pool school" they held for us right after the construction. I had no manuals that were left behind or anything to reference. It was A LOT of information especially for people that have never owned a pool before. However, I will say that any time I have had a question they kindly answered me and always fulfilled my requested. I recently had Jonathan come by and do a quick "pool school" session with me. He was kind and patient and shared valuable information I didn't receive the first time.

Unbelievably awesome! Less than 10 weeks from no hole in the ground to my salt water and heated pool is complete and beautiful! Awesome owners, project managers, and office manager who helped me design and show tiles and mosaic options for me to choose! I’ll be teaching Swim Life Water Survival lessons starting in April so Payne Pool Professionals kept to their schedule to get my pool complete in time for me to start teaching!
